Job Description

Summary

The PCI-ISO8583 team at Pismo is responsible for managing global financial transactions originating from various card brands. We operate in a critical area of our platform ensuring that applications handling sensitive transaction data are secure reliable and fully compliant with PCI DSS requirements.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain applications using Golang or Java following clean code and best software engineering practices.

• Design and implement scalable reliable and secure microservices architecture.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine and deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.

• Leverage AWS services such as SQS SNS DynamoDB S3 and EventBridge in day-to-day development.

• Use Terraform to provision maintain and evolve AWS infrastructure.

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system robustness.

• Monitor application health and performance using observability tools (metrics logs alerts).

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

• Contribute to architectural and technical discussions supporting continuous improvement and innovation.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

Qualifications

• For this role you must be based in Brazil.

Language Skills

• Proficiency in English at B1 level (Intermediate) or above.

Technical Skills

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.

• 5+ years of experience with Java or Golang in production environments.

• 2+ years of experience with AWS services (e.g. SQS SNS DynamoDB S3).

• Strong experience in designing and maintaining microservices architectures.

• Solid knowledge of SQL (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL).

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).

• Professional experience in the payments industry (e.g. acquirers issuers card schemes PSPs or related services).

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with ISO8583 protocol and payment transaction processing.

• Experience working in PCI-compliant environments.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.

• Background in event-driven architecture and messaging systems.

• Understanding of observability practices (monitoring tracing alerting).

• Experience in high-scale and high-availability environments.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
