Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $78,200.00 to $130,400.00. This position is eligible for participation in our short-term incentive program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills. The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.
Position Details:
The Senior Transportation Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting transportation projects and strategies aimed at developing new solutions and/or revisiting current solutions to improve service and/or costs. This role will require a high degree of project management aligned to all directions and modes of transportation. The role will also require a strong analytical ability, cross-functional project leadership, and communication skills relevant to all levels of leadership.
This role will report to the Sr Manager, Transportation Strategy. This role is based in Lake Forest.
You Will:
- Understand and support the Grainger transportation strategy and long-term goals.
- Analyze data for opportunities of improvement, develop a recommended course of action, implement a successful solution, and monitor results.
- Manage projects to ensure timelines and outcomes are met.
- Work with internal and external partners towards a shared goal.
- Lead change management with impacted partners.
- Communicate project status, timelines, and benefits to supply chain leaders.
- Hand-off new, but established processes to the transportation operations team once project is completed and considered a standard process.
- Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements, recommendations, and implement solutions that help the organization to achieve its goals.
- Understand industry trends and recommend opportunities to keep Grainger up to date on transportation best practices.
- Be comfortable working with ambiguous opportunities and exploring outside-of-the-box solutions.
- Have financial acumen to appropriately analyze and communicate financial implications of projects.
- Can identify, recommend/select, and negotiate with external suppliers that align with Transportation Procurement projects and goals.
You Have:
- 3-5 years experience in related field
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Project management experience
- Intermediate software skills such as MS Office family programs, SAP, and Teradata highly preferred.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in:
- Working understanding of the supply chain tradeoffs between transportation, DC operations processes, and inventory costs and availability
- Analyzing data, developing a recommended course of action and implementing a successful solution
- Leading team efforts on a specific assignment in an indirect reporting capacity
- Working through challenging issues in a constructive manner
- Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively in various ways up to VP level of management (e.g. written, oral, and presentation)
