SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting team responsible for overseeing and managing various financial activities within the organization. The role involves advanced-level accounting tasks, financial analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations.

This is not a remote position. The expectation is onsite at least 2days a week in our Daytona Beach office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for TruTeam accounting transactions.
• Research fluctuations in account balances/activity and provide detailed explanations to management.
• Monitor compliance with TopBuild Accounting Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and records
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
• Perform reconciliations of accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of journal entries
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
• Review and analyze ledger entries for accuracy
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
• Understand the key drivers that influence revenue, labor, and materials
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as FP&A and Operations

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrate integrity and professionalism
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Technical skills including advanced spreadsheet development, VB macros, Alteryx, or other automation tools strongly preferred
• Oracle or OneStream experience desired
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Basic inventory knowledge – costing, variances, cycle count, obsolescence, reserves

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Minimum Degree: BS/BA in Accounting

Special Certification or Licensing: CPA preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum experience: 3 years accounting experience for a publicly traded company or public accounting firm

Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting of boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.
