Sr. Creative Producer - Beauty & Lifestyle
Job Description
Job Description
Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Senior Creative Producer to join its Lifestyle Video team. As Senior Creative Producer you'll be responsible for delivering videos designed to inspire and inform audiences across the Dotdash Meredith suite of Beauty & Lifestyle properties, from Instyle to Travel & Leisure. You will be a creative team player who has a passion for and understanding of the online video space, can develop clever ideas, and possesses the technical skills to efficiently execute across each phase of the production cycle. The ideal Senior Creative Producer understands what makes great short-form video for the web, has a contemporary sense of style and aesthetics, is an organized master of pre-production, and can comfortably run a set and deliver an edit that brings ideas to life. Proven experience producing video for digital publishers is a must. Bonus points for a passion for social video and/or jumping in front of the camera to occasionally host videos.
Contributions:
  • Bring fresh story, execution, and edit ideas to the video strategy and a can-do approach to getting those videos out into the world, fast. Fluidly jump between pre-pro, production and post-production while juggling various productions at once.
  • Make great ideas tangible. Create treatments, scripts and production plans. Lead sets and oversee edits. See production plans through upload, managing all the production steps along the way, including hitting budget and deadline targets.
  • Be able to articulate and emulate best practices for short web video that drive video views and viewer engagement. Bring a vision that captures viewers' attention and keeps them watching on-site and across social platforms. Stay abreast and informed on digital video trends and use your findings to drive better production.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from the earliest conceptual stages to ensure the best creative and production approaches are employed. Communicate effectively about how to design a set, shoot and light, and be comfortable picking up a camera.
  • Review videos and give detailed feedback on edits. From the opening second to the bumper, ensure videos meet editorial and brand standards. Hop into Premiere to crank out an edit or a special graphic. Have complete ownership over the final product across all platforms.
  • Solve big and small problems before they arise and take ownership of the creative big picture and the tiny critical details from scouting locations, casting, procuring props through thumbnails.

Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of producing short-form video and experience owning video projects from concept through delivery
  • 5+ years experience producing for a digital publisher in the lifestyle space; proven understanding of best practices across social platforms (particularly TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Twitter and Snapchat)
  • Proficient in overseeing edits and editing, with a keen sense of pacing and style that has a social media sensibility, Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
  • Working knowledge of digital video cameras and lighting techniques; a sharp eye for what looks good on camera
  • Experience working with talent; bonus points for on-camera experience
  • Flawless organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail and master of logistics. You foresee complications, make quick decisions, and troubleshoot on the fly.
  • Experience managing production budgets and timelines
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven production environment
  • Stellar written and verbal communicator; impressive visual storytelling skills
  • Location: New York City
