Join us as a Sr. Database Application Developer

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Sr. Database Application Developer to join our IM Technology Team. In this role you will Oracle PL/SQL Developer with Strong programming experience in writing and optimizing PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, functions, tables, materialized views, indexes, triggers, and sequences. Strong Database application development and ETL experience with high volume data and batch processing

Some of your key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop and implement database application capabilities for a variety of legacy and modernized systems with limited oversight.
• Participate in complex applications and systems development, programming.
• Design, document and develop ETL logic and data flows to facilitate the easy usage of data assets, both batch and real-time streaming.
• Architect high performing data solutions using ETL, ETL or virtualization technologies.
• Develop subject matter expertise to support requests/inquiries from various business user groups.
• Consistent practice in coding and unit testing
• Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
• Data Quality rules development.
• Work with distributed teams (DBA, Operating Systems, Application Production Support)

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience writing SQL Queries to include using complex commands to manage data across multiple databases and tables.
• 7+ years of experience constructing schemas, tables, stored procedures, and deployment packages.
• Sound knowledge and experience in Oracle PL/SQL concepts and technologies on version 12C or higher.
• Strong programming experience in writing and optimizing PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, functions, tables, materialized views, indexes, triggers and sequences.
• Strong Database application development and ETL experience with high volume data and batch processing.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux shell script development.
• Strong working experience with database tuning and optimization
• Experience working with Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies
• Experience in Agile development environment
• End-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes
• Linux & Solaris shell script programming
• Communication skills - both written and verbal
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-driven, work in teams and independently if required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Strong knowledge of architectural principles, frameworks, design patterns and industry best practices for design and development.

Nice To Have:

• Working experience in a financial industry (Investment Management) is a big plus
• Previous experience in database upgrade, migration and testing a big plus
• Experience with T-SQL programming and MS SQL Server databases a big plus
• Understanding REST API integration
• Programming knowledge in C#, Java

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $130,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
