Purpose:

We seek to hire an inspiring, consumer-centric leader who listens to the customer and market and is highly curious about their needs and journey. As the Sr. Director of Product, you will be responsible for driving product development from idea, through procurement, and to execution. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the daily management of the product lifecycle, supplier development, and quality control. You will lead a domestic team, work closely with all internal teams, and provide direction to our Asia supply chain management team to ensure the execution of our product roadmap, increase our competitive market position, and drive business growth.

You are a creative, hands-on, and analytical leader that cultivates a culture of collaboration across your teams and the organization to optimize work processes that improve quality, customer satisfaction, sales, and profitability. You are motivated by challenges and establishing goals that achieve business growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a transformational product leader to shape the future of the Kraus consumer experience with our products.

This position can be based anywhere within the US, although ideally located in the Indianapolis, IN or Long Island, NY area. Kraus is committed to its hybrid workplace model and believes bringing teams together in-person to intentionally gather to solve strategic problems is crucial. This role should have flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, with up to 40% anticipated travel.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Roadmap:

  • Collaborate with Category Management on development of comprehensive product strategy and roadmap that is aligned with Kraus's business goals and customer needs.
  • Lead in implementation of product strategy to meet business objectives based on defined goals.
  • Using data from market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence, partner with vendors to identify capabilities to support product innovation, prioritize key features, and deliver market differentiation to drive maximum value to our customers.
  • Provide clear and concise communication to both technical and non-technical teams, ensuring a shared understanding of product goals and priorities.
  • Engage with strategic customers as a thought leader in the industry related to consumer trends, innovation, and product selection strategies.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead an impactful product development team, encouraging a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the team, promoting their professional growth and development.
  • Recruit and / or retain top talent who are passionate about consumer-centric product development and can drive exceptional results.

Product Development and Execution:

  • Be responsible for the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, growth & analytics, program management, and operations, to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Use data-driven insights, user feedback, and market research to inform product decisions and iterate on features and experiences.

Product Performance and Analytics:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success and guide data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze product performance data, user behavior, and market trends to seize opportunities for optimization and growth.
  • Collaborate with the growth & analytics team to implement tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor product performance and gather actionable insights.

Supplier Management, Product Quality & Compliance:

  • Nurture & maintain strategic relationships with our top suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing for new, existing, and concept projects
  • Manage strategy and process for adding new suppliers and consolidating/dropping existing suppliers based on Kraus supplier scorecard and business goals.
  • Identify and secure new supplier relationships based on product growth strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Masco / DFC or industry standards and regulations

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience, MBA a plus
  • 10+ years' experience in a product leadership role with multi-category management in product/merchandise buying.
  • Experience within the home improvement industry within a consumer or customer-facing business, preferably with strong e-commerce and retail presence.
  • Demonstrated success in launching leading, consumer-preferred products and driving measurable business growth.
  • Strategic problem solver with ability to drive execution throughout the product organization.
  • Highly adept at team building and collaboration, forging relationships and working effectively across functions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple, concurrent projects to meet ambitious deadlines.
  • Proven track record of identifying and taking advantage of industry trends in a timely manner.
  • Capability to work in and excel in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Excellent analytical, excel and PC skills. Demonstrated ability to drive analysis and insights into action.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to influence vendors or leaders for outcomes that are productive and beneficial both short and long term.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
