As a Hardware Product Engineer for Micron Technology, Inc., you will partner with Module Design Teams to validate the PCBA hardware designs developed by the Design team! We also measure and quantify module performance on PC systems in addition to module testers. We measure, evaluate and quantify active component performance on PC Systems and build platforms! We build and/or modify test software and hardware in order to verify designs, identify and solve design weaknesses, and perform competitor analysis and benchmarking.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Evaluate signal integrity of memory module hardware using PC systems, evaluation/test platforms, and Oscilloscope.
- Providing timely feedback and debug on initial circuit designs.
- Conduct failure analysis on board level designs, PC systems, and platforms used for testing.
- Working closely with Simulation Engineers to develop methods for correlating measurement to initial design simulations.
- Characterize active components such as switching regulators, power management integrated circuits (PMICs), register clock drivers (RCD), thermal sensors, etc.
- Provide hardware design input, including active component selection.
- Developing test methods to measure, characterize, evaluate and quantify active component performance on module designs and evaluation platforms.
- Developing methodology to measure and benchmark module performance on PC systems and module testers. Develop methodology/processes/procedures to test components.
- Developing and providing input for continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Assist in development and modification of software to enable performance testing.
- Provide schematic and layout knowledge and design for developing verification lab hardware.
- Work closely with component vendors to review plans and reports
- Attend module design reviews and mentor/share feedback to design leads regarding verification of modules.
Requirements:
- Bachelors/Masters/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or ECE
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Exposure to validating & verifying PCB, PCBA, and IC prototypes & designs
