JOB SUMMARY
Cresco Labs is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounts Payable to join our corporate finance team in Chicago, IL. The Senior Manager, Accounts Payable manages all aspects of the Accounts Payable process including invoice processing, payment processing, month end accruals, internal controls and master data creation. This role oversees a team of AP Team Leads and AP Analysts, reporting to the VP of Accounting Operations.
CORE JOB DUTIESÂ
- Manage the Accounts Payable team, leading all activities and operations in the accounts payable function for the organization including invoice processing, payment selections and processing, T&E processing, vendor maintenance, audit support and reporting (e.g., 1099 reporting)
- Manage, lead and develop the Accounts Payable team to ensure a positive and efficient customer service experience through effective delivery and execution of AP services and processesÂ
- Provide accurate, high-quality customer service and support to external vendors and internal users through clear communication and timely resolution of issues
- Key leader, driving continuous improvement of processes and procedures as company expands in to new and established markets; measures opportunities and improvement through the rigorous application of KPIs and metrics
- Act as main resource for the IT team to drive improvements and enhancements to AP systems and modules, including end-to-end procure-to-pay technologies
- Ensure analysis of invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment
- Managing timely payments of vendor invoices
- Maintaining accurate financial records and control reports and reporting and managing of KPIs
- Partner with VP Treasurer, Treasury team and VP Accounting Operations to streamline payment options, provide visibility of spend and ensure adequate controls over disbursements
- Work closely with the Treasury Manager and Analyst to forecast cash for 13-week forecasting process
- Work closely with the General Accounting teams to ensure proper coding of AP invoices and accruals
- Ensure integration/expansion of AP processes in newly acquired businesses and expanding markets
- Documentation and development of SOPs, process maps, and key controls in the functional area under supervision
- Support the year-end financial audit and tax preparation process
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (such as Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Procurement, IT, business functions, and external service providers)
- Other Duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLSÂ Â
- Bachelor’s in business related field (Accounting, Business Administration), Certified Payables Manager (APM) highly preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable management or another related roleÂ
- 5+ years of previous people leadership experience with ability to lead and develop a large team required
- Strong written and verbal communications, exceptional interpersonal skills to engage team and stakeholders
- Have created a strong culture of Customer Service within an internal AP department
- Experience with financial accounting and ERP systems ( Sage Intacct preferred)Â
- Pro-active and consistent follow through on assigned tasksÂ
- Project management experience highly preferred
- Â
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required Â
- Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
