The Opportunity

Title: Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting/SOX Compliance
Reports to: Director, Corp Accounting
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting/SOX Compliance will play a key part in IAC’s accounting functions. Specifically, this dynamic role offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to participate in accounting, operational, and financial oversight for IAC’s Corporate Accounting and NY-based Shared Services Accounting function. In addition, the ideal candidate also will take a leadership role in driving operational, process, and control improvements to ensure operational excellence and accuracy in financial reporting. This role works with IAC Treasury, Tax, Real Estate, the External Reporting function, Human Resources, FP&A, the other Corporate departments, and the operating businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly financial close process for the Search and Publishing business units, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation
  • Manage monthly revenue accounting close efforts, including invoicing, contract analysis, preparation/review of monthly revenue, and deferred revenue reconciliations
  • Analyze revenue performance and analytics to identify risks and opportunities for improvements. Ensure compliance with key controls in the order to cash cycle, accurate GAAP reporting, audit requirements, and external reporting requirements
  • Update and maintain the company’s revenue recognition policy as business processes evolve and accounting standards change
  • Prepare the Quarterly Financial Reporting package
  • Report results to the financial consolidation system
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Work closely with other finance team members and cross-functional departments such as Sales, FP&A, Product Management, Audit, Tax, and Legal
  • Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget and forecasts
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes
  • Complete special projects as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA required
  • 8-10 years of work experience in accounting required
  • “Big 4” public accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ASC 606
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience managing teams
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Salary Range: $125,000 to $155,000

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of IAC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
