About the job Sr. MEA Development Engineer

With the mission of solving the challenges for a sustainable future, Envision designs, sells and operates smart wind turbines and strives to produce green chemicals towards global carbon footprint reduction. Envision is committed to promoting the adaption of wind and solar power, electric batteries and green hydrogen to create a zero-carbon world.
Green hydrogen plays an essential role towards our net-zero mission. Hydrogen has widespread industrial and transport applications. - Benchmark MEA performance, durability and cost working closely with collaborators from industry and academia
- Brainstorm innovative solutions for MEA design and optimization towards performance and durability improvement
- Develop best practice and protocols, e.g, accelerated stress testing (AST), for electrode, membrane, and MEA evaluations.
- Pinpoint underlying MEA mechanical and chemical degradation mechanisms and bring up mitigating solutions to upgrading the MEA lifetime
- Scale up MEA production from lab scale to full scale using industry processes (roll-to-roll coating, sputtering, and tape-casting)
- Interface with stack developers and system designers towards MEA integration
- Supervise and train junior engineers/scientists in MEA fabrication and analysis
- Work cohesively with chemists for new catalyst and membrane development
- Interact material scientists for MEA composition and microstructural characterization
- Collaborate with testing engineers for MEA testing and rigorous data analysis
- Delegate the corporation to interact with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Ph. D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science with 3 years of related experiences or M.S. with at least 5 years of experience
- Strong experience in low and intermediate temperature fuel cells and electrolyzers
- Hands-on experience in large-scale MEA manufacturing
- Knowledgeable about catalyst, membrane, ionomer, gas diffusion layer, and other components
- Good experience in electrochemical tests (i.e. cyclic voltammetry, impedance, fuel cell, electrolyzer)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a fast learner and proactive performer
- Must be an innovator with bottom-up ideas
