Conventional hydrogen production from fossil fuels is accompanied by the release of large quantities of carbon dioxide. Our innovative technologies take renewable energy and water to produce green hydrogen with zero emission. We aspire to improve the efficiency, reduce the cost, and scale the manufacturing to meet booming green hydrogen market.

We are therefore seeking talented and highly motivated polymer scientist to develop and scale-up cutting-edge polymer electrolyte materials for Alkaline Liquid and Anion-Exchange Membrane water electrolyzer systems. We will work together to create groundbreaking solutions to transform our technologies for low-cost green H2production.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Brainstorm innovative ideas for polymer composition and structure design and develop practical synthesis routes (e.g, copolymer, crosslinking) for polymer synthesis and polymer blends
• Characterize or coordinate the characterization of essential physical and chemical properties of synthesized polymer materials
• Pinpoint underlying chemical and electrochemical degradation mechanisms for polymer membranes and develop effective strategies to mitigate polymer degradation
• Responsible for the effective management, operation, and safety of the wet chemistry lab.
• Develop economical approaches for scale-up
• Interact effectively with membrane scientists for polymer membrane fabrication and testing
• Keep scientific records and prepare detailed reports
• Represent the corporation to work closely with vendors and collaborators from industry and academia.

Qualifications:

• A MS with minimum 5 years OR an PhD with minimum 2 years postgraduate experience in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field focused on polymer chemistry
• Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in monomer/polymer design and synthesis, polymer modification and characterization.
• Knowledge and experience in ion-exchange polymer preferred.
• Reasonable experience in PEM fuel cells and electrolyzers is a plus
• Competency to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Highly motivated with mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be a fast learner and proactive performer
• Must be an innovator with bottom-up ideas

Salary: 95K-135K a year Full Time

Candidates should expect up to 15% international travel.
