Job Description:

SiFive is looking to hire a hands-on System Software leader to own the software for the SiFive boards programs. In this role, you will be a part of the team that develops Bare Metal and Linux distributions for SiFive Platforms. Working with the internal team and external partners, you will be responsible for the development and support of the software distributions for SiFive development boards. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and get to market the software for the latest SiFive technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and own the software roadmap for SiFive development boards.

• Collaborate with internal teams (Product teams, Technical teams) and with external partners to execute the software roadmap.

• Inculcate and follow the best Open Source software practices for a fully Open Source BSP model for the SiFive boards.

• Develop the support structure and support the SiFive development boards software.

• Beyond the software for the development boards, contribute to the SiFive System Software features for the most advanced RISC-V IP.

Requirements:

• 8+ years or experience developing System Software (boot loaders, Linux kernel, Linux distributions – Yocto, Android, etc)

• Breath of experience across the Linux software stack, with in-depth development expertise with the Linux kernel preferred.

• Direct hands-on open source software contributions and experience.

• Knowledge of build and integration systems.

• Experience with hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers, debugging, and validation on specific CPU architectures.

• Leadership experience with distributed teams.

Compensation range:

219,000.00 - 290,000.00

Pay & Benefits

Consistent with SiFive values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline, and our compensation range reflects the cost of labor in the U.S. geographic market based on the location of the role. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant work experience. 

For candidates who receive and offer, the starting salary will vary based on various factors including, but not limited to, such qualifications as, skill level, competencies, and work location. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee.

Base Pay Range

In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for variable/ incentive compensation and/ or equity. In addition, this role is eligible for a comprehensive, competitive benefits package which may include healthcare and retirement plans, paid time off, and more!
