Who We're Looking For

Job Description Summary
We are looking for Lead Software Developer who is passionate about designing and writing software to join a collaborative and distributed group of Developers on our core Analytics team. The core Analytics team is responsible for building data pipelines, frameworks and tools to produce quality data that enables business and customers to explore insights. If you have working knowledge of big data frameworks (Hadoop, spark or flink) or have extensive experience in one of the popular programming languages (C++, Java, Python or Scala), and are open to learn new technologies we encourage you to apply.

Some of What You'll Do

Scope of the Role:

• Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications or data pipelines
• Deliver complex features with quality and supportability
• Write and maintain clear architecture, tests and system guide documentation
• Collaboratively define, scope, prioritize, and estimate work
• Assist with implementation and monitor to ensure the software is functioning as expected
• Review design documents and code to provide constructive feedback
• Research and recommend new technology, methodologies to help increase overall efficiencies
• Testing and deploying programs and applications.
• Triage, reproduce, and debug issues reported by other coworkers for our areas of responsibility
• Work autonomously on new items and be proactive in unblocking yourself either by finding solutions or reaching out to other peers

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.

5 -7 years experience as a full-time Software Developer/Engineer

Strong Javascript, HTML, CSS skills

Experience with Angular or other JS frameworks (Vue, React, etc)

Experience with SASS/SCSS or other CSS preprocessor Strong understanding of asynchronous programming paradigms

Experience with Typescript or alternative (CoffeeScript, Dart, etc)

Additional Requirements:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Professional experience using one of the major programming languages
• Demonstrable experience with Databases
• Familiarity with Git
• Experience working independently on a distributed team
• Ability to learn and think critically about software and data engineering concepts and apply them pragmatically based on project needs

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 -7 years experience as a full-time Software Developer/Engineer Strong Javascript, HTML, CSS skills
• Experience with Angular or other JS frameworks (Vue, React, etc)
• Experience with SASS/SCSS or other CSS preprocessor Strong understanding of asynchronous programming paradigms
• Experience with Typescript or alternative (CoffeeScript, Dart, etc).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc) Strong knowledge of RESTful standards and implementation
• Experience working with UI/UX design teams, translating designs into functional and beautiful applications
• Experience with Java or Scala application development
• Experience with MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, Hadoop, or other ISO SQL RDBMS Experience using Unix/Linux system environments Scripting language skills (Python, bash/shell, server-side JS, etc)
• Experience deploying containerized applications (Amazon ECS or Kubernetes) Desire to continually keep up with advancements in relevant technologies Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies Constantly improve product quality, security, and performance
