Staff Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities: AXion Accountant will: • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, general ledger, monthly closings and issuance of financial statements • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness • Manage general ledger accounting functions • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested • Work with external and internal customers on any day-to-day issues • Assist with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, Associates required • 5 years of hands on experience is a must • Experience with Accounting for Leases, Accrual Accounting and Depreciation • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities • Knowledge of Sage Intacct • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Experience with other financial systems Note:Nothing in this job description changes the at-will nature of employment with this organization.
