The Role

Saildrone is growing and we are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic individual to serve as Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Fixed Assets Manager and Controller.

Responsibilities

• Proposing, recording, and disposing of Fixed Assets on a monthly basis.
• Tracking, reconciling, and capitalizing (upon completion) CIP and other fixed asset related projects.
• Tracking, recording, and maintaining ongoing movements of Saildrone-owned fixed asset property, such as physical identification (tags, serial numbers), custodian/ user, location, In-Service date, disposal details etc.
• Assisting Fixed Assets manager in bi-annual inventory of fixed assets, fixed assets reconciliations, filing property taxes, preparing monthly Fixed Assets Register and Roll-forward.
• Assisting Fixed Assets manager in manufacturing and inventory related tasks, including but not limited to, costing/reviewing items and assemblies, reconciliation of inventory accounts, reviewing inventory adjustments, inventory variances, other inventory movements along with audit requests and periodic inventory counts.
• Supporting other month-end close activities including, but not limited to, recording accounts payable and landed cost entries, accruals, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Identifying areas of improvements and proposing effective solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of combined accounting firm and industry experience. Experience in the Manufacturing industry preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Finance or Accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.
• Proficiency in NetSuite Fixed Assets module is a plus.
• Ability to function effectively in a multi-tasking environment with strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed on a computer and requires ability to operate a keyboard and other peripheral devices.

Location: This position is a hybrid role in Alameda, CA. Our waterfront office offers beautiful views of San Francisco Bay in always sunny Alameda. Even our walls have good karma, our offices mix software development with a hardware production line in the former airplane hangar used to film 'The Matrix'.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000-$85,000 annually.
