JOB TITLE:Staff Accountant
REPORTS TO:Financial Controller
Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional who will take ownership of core general ledger activities and support the financial reporting function. This role involves journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, analysis, and participation in closing processes. The ideal candidate brings attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Core Qualifications:

Solid foundation in U.S. accounting principles (GAAP).
β’
Comfortable using accounting software and highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.

Able to balance recurring responsibilities while contributing to ad hoc projects.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
β’
Open to new challenges and able to adapt quickly in a changing environment.
β’
Skilled at interpreting data and presenting actionable insights.

Demonstrates consistency, reliability, and professionalism in daily work.
Primary Responsibilities:
β’
Maintain integrity of the general ledger by ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and in line with internal policies and GAAP standards.
β’
Lead the monthly close cycle, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling key accounts, and finalizing internal financial statements.
β’
Support the reconciliation and tracking of fixed assets and inventory.
β’
Take a proactive role in internal compliance, including bank reconciliations, sales tax submissions, and external reporting requirements.
β’
Oversee electronic payment processing and assist in transitioning vendors to electronic funds transfer (EFT).
β’
Coordinate annual 1099 reporting and support audit preparation efforts.
β’
Contribute to the enhancement of internal controls and process efficiency.
β’
Collaborate with leadership to analyze financial trends and recommend areas for improvement.
β’
Serve as backup support during peak periods or when other accounting personnel are unavailable.
β’
Handle additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
β’
Minimum of three years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
β’
Bachelorβs or advanced degree in Accounting required.
β’
CPA license or progress toward certification is preferred.
