Job Description
We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Team! The ideal candidate is someone with at least three years experience in a similar role or a role with growing responsibilities. Experience in a retail company with high volume inventory turns is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure AP invoices are entered timely, accurately and are paid in accordance with vendor negotiated terms
• Payment processing, including running AP aging report, watching terms and taking advantage of discounts available and make payments within provided terms
• Process non-PO invoices by verifying receipts, supporting documentation, G/L coding, and appropriate approvals in accordance with established delegation of authority matrix
• Maintain accounting records by filing and indexing invoices, review open invoices weekly
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors
• Prepare documentation for wire payments
• Assist in the conversion and verification process of vendor ACH
• Complete monthly consignment payments
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and vendors, including vendor inquiries and new vendor setup
• Liaise with Purchasing for purchase price discrepancies (under Controller's guidance)
• Assist in month end AP accruals, i.e. bank reconciliation, month-end Journal entries, AP Audit
• Respond timely to account payable related inquires (including, but not limited to, via phone and email)
• Assist in providing necessary documentation during annual audits
• Administer T&E costs, review and process employee expense reports
• Monitor cash daily
• Liaise with Rentals landlords
• Back up Payroll function to cover time off
• Perform other assigned tasks by Controller
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Bachelor’s Degree or Minimum 4-year relevant experience in similar role
• High degree of attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions
• Proactive, can-do attitude with strong time management and organizational skills
• Strong analytical capabilities including at least intermediate MS Office skills, particularly Excel
• Autonomous, pro-active, and results focused
• Able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining priorities and meeting deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Epicor is a HUGE plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
