Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will assist the organization in its efforts to maintain and improve financial, accounting and administrative controls and procedures. The role will assist the Director of Finance and Accounting in performing the day-to-day tasks of the growing department. This includes adhering to departmental and functional procedures, internal controls, and accounting practices compliant with US GAAP, AREA15 policies and procedures, and applicable state and Federal regulations. Additionally, this team member will support the department’s leadership in presenting to senior management explanations for monthly activity and/or fluctuations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Prepare journal entries and ad-hoc/pro forma reports. • Collaborate effectively across departments, with vendors, and customers. • Apply accounting principles and conduct analytical analyses. • Accurately record daily, monthly, and annual financial transactions. • Execute monthly account reconciliations and financial reporting. • Investigate and resolve reconciling items, reporting exceptions to management. • Utilize critical thinking to identify and implement process improvements. • Manage time effectively, handling multiple priorities with attention to detail. • Assist with Accounts Payable processing, ACH payments, and vendor management. • Support daily revenue reconciliation and audit processes. • Contribute to refining NetSuite ERP. • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction. • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures. • Be available to time-sensitive matters • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to AREA15 standards. • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. • Perform other work-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations. • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, hospitality, or relevant field is required. • Minimum 3+ years of direct accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years in budgeting and administration. • Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting, US GAAP, cash tracking, reconciliations, and controls. • Preferred experience in Hospitality, Retail, and/or Entertainment sectors. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle). • Experience in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships. • Ability to commute between office and venue(s). • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke. • Must have the ability to withstand high temperatures, heat, and sun exposure.
