Job Title:Staff Accountant
Location:Seattle, WA – Onsite
Employment Type:6-Month Contract
Pay Range:$30 – $35/hour DOE
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivatedStaff Accountantto join our accounting team for a 6-month contract. This role will support the day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, and ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Perform general ledger entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
•
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
•
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
•
Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
•
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
•
Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis.
•
Support preparation of financial reports for management review.
•
Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls.
•
Provide support during audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.
Qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•
2+ years of accounting experience.
•
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
•
Strong understanding of GAAP.
•
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
•
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
CPA or CPA candidate.
•
Experience in [industry if applicable—e.g., real estate, manufacturing, nonprofit].
Work Environment:
•
Onsite in Seattle, WA.
•
Standard business hours, with occasional extended hours during close periods.
