Staff Accountant

Pavarini McGovern, part of the STO Building Group is looking to add a Staff Accountant to our team in New York City. Overview The staff accountant reports to the Controller of the Pavarini McGovern, LLC group at STOBG. The staff accountant assists with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of the company’s accounts. • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and other balance sheet accounts. • Monitor, reconcile and report on division cash positions • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations • Assist with compiling and maintaining required financial information to populate reports for senior management • Assist with preparation of annual audits and quarterly internal financial statement preparation. • Prepare basic financial compliance reports as requested. • Work with Project Accountants with day to day and month/year end closing tasks • Review, code, and process vendor invoices and payments. • Follow up on outstanding items with vendors and internal staff. • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records Required Skills/Abilities • Ability to develop and maintain relationship with both local, regional and international financial team members. • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment. • Oracle Based CMiC Construction Management software knowledge is recommended Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and /or Accounting and related work experience. • 2+ years of general accounting experience and financial recordkeeping.Construction accounting experience preferred. • The salary range for this position is $105-120k annually with a discretionary bonus potential.
