Staff Accountant

JOB The Village of Tinley Park is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Staff Accountant in our Finance Department. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Under the direction of the Interim Finance Director, this position will complete a variety of municipal accounting functions with the newly implemented ERP system (BS&A) and be actively engaged in improving processes and efficiencies. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing periodic reports and assist in the preparation of the annual and other State or Federal reports including annual audit and ACFR (Annual Comprehensive Financial Report). Make journal entries to balance and close monthly books in general ledger, revenue and expense accounts. This position will also prepare financial reports on water, sewer and electric revenue and expenses. Reconcile bank statements, perform periodic financial studies, analyses, and special projects.
