The Staff Accountant participates in general accounting functions and in the month-end close process, ensures the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments, as well as the accurate processing of payroll and benefits.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Major areas of responsibility include:
· Participate in Monthly Close and Year-end Close processes.
· Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
· Complete balance sheet account reconciliations.
· Prepare and analyze financial reports.
· Match invoices against receiving and/or packing slips; reconcile for matches and hold unmatched documents for future comparisons.
· Actively solicit required documentation from pertinent departments and/or vendors for unmatched documents to provide timely processing.
· Accurately post invoices in the proper general ledger account and accounting period.
· Ensure that all vendors are approved and properly documented in A2000.
· Review aging report for invoices coming due; follow up with vendors for missing invoices.
· Oversee check run process and send ACHs/Wires as necessary.
· Process weekly and biweekly payroll, posting and reconciliation in General Ledger.
· Maintain internal control and audit standards. Assist Controller with supporting documentation during various audits.
· Ensure departmental procedures and processes are documented.
· Continually review procedures and processes for improvements and efficiencies.
· Ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
· Exposure to full-cycle internal accounting process.
Job Requirements
· Superior skills in using Excel for reporting and analysis including pivot tables, V-lookup, and sum/if formulas. (An on-site test will be administered to finalists.)
· Broad knowledge and experience in: Accounts Payable and General Accounting
· Above average skills in: Written and verbal communication in individual interactions.
Demonstrated ability to: Work in a fast-paced, challenging environment, requiring focus on multiple projects and priorities concurrently while adhering to fixed deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Experience:
• General Accounting: 3 years (Required)
• Advanced Excel: 3 years (Required)
• wholesale industry - apparel preferred: 2 years (Required)
