Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with strong Accounts Payable (AP) experience to join our finance team. This role is ideal for professionals with 2 to 5 years of accounting experience who are looking to grow their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts payable process including invoice entry, vendor communication, and payment processing.
• Reconcile AP transactions and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve AP processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations.
• Assist with other general accounting tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on accounts payable.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices.
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.).
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to handle complex reconciliations.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in retail or manufacturing.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience in accounting software such as NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP system.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in financial reporting.
