Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and strategic Staff Accountant to provide high-level financial guidance and oversight to our clients/ Our firm provides advisory services, primarily outsourced CFO services, to our clients across several industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, ERP and CRM systems, Payroll Processing Systems, Merchant Account Reconciliations and Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Core Duties include: Financial Accounting and Record Keeping • Recording and analyzing financial transactions • Record and organize financial data including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses and revenue • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations • Preparing and analyzing financial statements for accuracy and consistency • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations Financial Planning and Analysis • Assist in developing of budgets • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning • Perform profitability analysis, cash flow forecasting and cost optimization strategies • Analyze KPIs and provide actionable insights Reporting and Compliance • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP or applicable standards • Analyze financial records, identify discrepancies and provide detailed reports and insights to managements or clients • Prepare board and investor presentations and reports • Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors to ensure compliance and efficiency • Filing and recording of sales tax Cash Flow and Risk Management • Monitor cash flow, working capital and liquidity • Identify and mitigate financial risks • Implement internal controls and improve financial systems Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (MBA/CPA preferred) • 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience including at the CFO or senior finance level • Experience in startups, high-growth companies or multiple industries is a strong plus • Deep understanding of financial statements, strategic planning and risk management • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Tools and Systems: • Proficiency in accounting platforms (QuickBooks, Xero, Net Suite, etc.) • Advanced Excell skills (VLOOUP, IF, SUMIF, IFERROR, CONCATENATE, Pivot Tables, etc.) • Experience with financial modeling tools and dashboards Work Structure: • Full Time in our La Jolla office location • May required occasional on-site visits depending on client preference • Will support multiple clients simultaneously in different industries Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
