Staff Accountant

Job Summary: This role is a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with strong Accounts Receivable experience and working knowledge of Power BI to join our growing organization. This role will support the daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to financial reporting and data analysis to support business decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities: • Daily process customer invoices, credit memos, and receipts accurately and timely. • Monitor customer accounts for outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments. • Reconcile AR subledger to the General Ledger monthly. • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing or payment discrepancies. • Enforce Credit & Collections Policy, proactively communicate with customers • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limit, payment terms and/or required credit insurance to mitigate risk. • Maintain appropriate Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) • Prepare and post journal entries as needed. • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. • Support account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. • Assist with sales and use tax review and reconciliation of third-party filing. • Review and maintain work instructions and management processes per ISO requirements. • Design and maintain Power BI reports to provide actionable insights to the Finance team and other stakeholders. • Extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to support management reporting. • Develop ad-hoc reports as requested. Required Skills: • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices standards, regulations. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with the ability to work independently within the department and across functional areas. • Superior data management and data analysis skills. • Proficiency with accounting software (Syspro a plus not required) • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI report building and data visualization. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field of study required • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and with strong focus on Accounts Receivable. • High level of efficiency and accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data. • Solid understanding of GAAP and basic internal controls.
