Job Description:
Caine & Weineris seeking a Temp to Hire, In-Office, detail-oriented and proactiveStaff Accountantto join our growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience withGreat Plainsaccounting software and a strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing accounts payable (AP) functions, preparing, and posting journal entries, and assisting with month-end close processes and other projects as needed and assigned.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm or 9am – 6pm
In office position located in our Sherman Oaks CA 91411
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts payable process, including the accurate coding and timely payment of invoices.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other relevant reports for management review.
• Assist with accrual-based accounting tasks, ensuring all expenses and revenues are appropriately recognized.
• Perform various reconciliations, including bank and vendor reconciliations.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including working with VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables to streamline reporting and analysis.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a MUST.
• Experience with Great Plains accounting software is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and other advanced functions.
• Solid understanding of accrual-based accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Solid AP experience
• Experience with month-end close and general ledger functions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
