Staff Accountant

Responsibilities: We have an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team, based in the Downtown Houston office. As a key player in the team’s operations, this individual should be conscientious about their role and possess a strong “can-do” customer service attitude. TheStaff Accountantwill have the following responsibilities: • General Accounts Payable functions including setting up and maintaining vendor records, responding to W9 requests, process vendor invoices, review employee expense reports in Concur and assist with weekly check runs • General Accounts Receivable functions including preparing incoming checks for deposit, setting up and maintaining client records • Assist in annual 1099 reporting process • Prepare and enter journal entries • Assist with preparation of audit work papers for external auditors • Ad hoc financial analysis projects • General administrative accounting duties Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Financ • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an accounting role • Must be able to multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, such as account reconciliation, A/P, A/R, general ledger, etc. • Proficient in MS Office Suites – Advanced Excel • Excellent verbal and written communication and client interface skills Walter P Moore is an equal employment opportunity employer, and provides equal employment opportunities (including offering competitive compensation and benefit packages) to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to any characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.Overview: Walter P Moore is an international company of engineers, architects, innovators, and creative people who solve some of the world’s most complex structural and infrastructure challenges.
