Job Description
This is a full-time, 100% on-site role for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with General Accounting and Accounts Receivable, including (but not limited to):
• Prepare month-end financial statements.
• Perform month-end closing.
• Review monthly billing for accuracy.
• Oversee the AR functions and AR clerk: Supervise/Assist with aging reports for multiple companies. Verify accuracy of invoicing & payments for multiple companies.
• Accounting support for the owner’s personal finances.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed assets / depreciation schedules.
• Calculate, Prepare and Post Journal entries into general ledger
• Monthly amortization of prepaid expenses and accrual of liabilities.
• Calculate, Prepare and Post Journal entries into general ledger
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Work with multiple banks to pay loans, swaps, and interest
• Print and organize investment binders, approve quarterly investment fees
• Assist with in-house IT network (cellphones and computer supplies).
• Review year- end tenant bill back reconciliations.
• Assist upper management in creating and implementing accounting standard operational procedures.
• Pull credit checks for potential customers for multiple companies.
• Create new customers in the system (all companies).
• Assist in physical year-end inventory count and adjustments.
• Cross train in AP/AR.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of experience preferred.
• Energetic, goal-oriented team player with a willingness to learn and corroborate.
• Experience with accounting software and QuickBooks preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Visual a plus but not required.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Thorough understanding of accounts receivable and general accounting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
