Staff Accountant

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in financial software. Duties • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. • Prepare and manage budgets, providing insights into variances and trends. • Handle regulatory reporting requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards. • Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and timely. • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies. • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation. • Utilize financial software, including Quicken, for tracking expenses and generating reports. • Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits and provide necessary documentation. • Support management with financial analysis and reporting as needed. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in public accounting. • Strong skills in account reconciliation, budgeting, regulatory reporting, and general ledger reconciliation. • Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with Quicken is a plus. • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
