Job Summary
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organizedStaff Accountantto join our finance team within a vertically integrated cannabis organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in financial accounting, a working knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records in a multi-entity, highly regulated environment. This role plays a critical part in supporting the financial health of our operations by assisting with cost allocations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborating with multiple departments to streamline accounting processes.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP, ASC standards, and cannabis-specific compliance requirements.
• Assist with accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment application, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate posting.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) and non-COGS allocations per GAAP, andASC.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) financial recordkeeping standards and ensure supporting documentation meets regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company financial information.
Qualifications
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity or manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within a public accounting environment.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and familiarity with ASC guidance on inventory and cost allocations.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Monday.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, regulated environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Cannabis industry experience and familiarity with METRC/CCB compliance are a plus
