Staff Accountant - TEST

Sinclair Broadcast Group's Corporate Accounting department is seeking a staff accountant.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Daily administration of fixed assets, including gaining a thorough understanding of the company's fixed asset software system
• Prepare monthly journal entries, including but not limited to, asset additions and retirements, sales, depreciation, amortization, and adjustment and reclass entries as necessary
• Update fixed assets system for newly acquired station's and prepare adjusting journal entries if necessary
• Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for depreciation and amortization while being able to determine variances
• Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger on a quarterly basis through preparation of the consolidated fixed asset rollforward
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective communication with station personnel by responding to requests in a timely manner
• Reconcile CIP account tracking costs by project, communicating with project managers on project status and reclassing items into production upon completion
• Respond to audit requests in a timely manner, providing accurate and appropriate supporting schedules and work papers
• Complete ad-hoc projects to support the Corporate Accounting team as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (1-2 years of accounting experience in a Corporate setting or public accounting is required)
• Working knowledge of the general ledger, financial statements, budgets and forecasts, and internal controls
• Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, professional environment
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others
• Possess strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong Excel skills required
• Oracle experience is a plus
