As the Staff Accountant for30North, the holding subsidiary forJoseph Ellen PropertiesandAncient City Hideaways—two leading vacation rental management brands in Northeast Florida—you’ll play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and accounting procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and be able to handle a wide range of tasks, including bank reconciliations, credit card management, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial information is available to support decision-making.
Your core responsibilities will include reviewing and processing receipts and invoices, maintaining monthly P&Ls and balance sheets, and assisting in preparing monthly financial statements for property owners. You’ll also monitor the administrative department’s Slack channel for incoming receipts and charges from internal team members, ensuring timely and accurate billing to owners for items purchased from in-house inventory.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a degree in Accounting and have a solid understanding of accounting concepts. Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office software, particularly Google Sheets, is strongly preferred (Guesty, Topkey are a plus).
The Staff Accountant must have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to review their own work and correct any errors before completing each task. As the role involves corresponding with owners, vendors, and business partners, excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining consistently high-quality work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Processing receipts and invoices, creating and entering bills into Topkey/QuickBooks, and issuing payments via direct deposit.
• Preparing ad hoc financial reports using QuickBooks, Monday.com, and Google Sheets for various projects and information requests from departments, vendors, and homeowners.
• Communicating with owners, guests, and vendors via email and phone to gather documents, respond to inquiries, and provide information on revenue, expenses, invoices, charges, and compensation.
• Reviewing bills entered into QuickBooks/Topkey for accuracy of account coding and property assignment, and resolving any billing or payment issues with vendors.
• Managing monthly Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow levels.
• Process payroll for 1099 contractors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Year end 1099 processing for owners and contractors
• Provide backup support for payroll processing in Paylocity
• Review and manage invoices from vendors and service providers, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Reconcile multiple bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Assist with financial reporting and budgeting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
• Support the finance team with other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Accounting required
• Strong knowledge of trust accounting for short term rental property management is a plus.
• Revenue reporting for STR owners.
• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
• Experience reviewing and managing invoices.
• Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks and Google Sheets, extra points for being familiar with Topkey, Hostfully, or Guesty.
• Ability to learn new systems and property management software quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
