Staff Development Nurse - RN Status:Full-Time Wage:$49-$56 hourly DOE Location: Avamere Rehabilitation of Park West - 1703 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116 Apply atTeamavamere.com A Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) in a skilled nursing facility is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training programs for all levels of nursing staff, ensuring clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality resident care by orientations, designing and delivering in-service education, and assessing staff performance to identify and address training needs, all while collaborating with nursing leadership to maintain standards of care within the facility. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities • Identify training needs for all staff levels (CNAs, LVNs/LPNs, RNs) based on resident care requirements, regulatory standards, and performance evaluations. • Develop and maintain comprehensive training curriculums covering clinical skills, resident rights, infection control, safety procedures, and facility policies. • Conduct thorough orientation programs for new hires, covering facility policies, procedures, resident care practices, and regulatory compliance. • Oversee the onboarding process for new staff, ensuring proper documentation and competency checks. • Plan and deliver ongoing in-service training sessions for all staff on new procedures, clinical updates, and best practices. • Utilize various teaching methods like classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and simulation exercises. • Conduct regular skills checks and competency assessments to ensure staff maintain the required clinical proficiency. • Identify areas of weakness and provide targeted training or remediation as needed. • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives related to staff training and resident care. • Analyze data from incident reports, resident assessments, and quality audits to inform training needs. • Ensure all staff training programs adhere to state and federal regulations, including documentation requirements. • Monitor staff certifications and licenses to maintain compliance. • Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to staff members to enhance their clinical skills and professional development. • Identify potential leaders and provide opportunities for advancement within the facility. Requirements and Qualifications • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university. • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state. • Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment. • Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting. • Experience in electronic medical records documentation. • Strong leadership and communication skills. • Ability to design and deliver effective training programs. • Knowledge of CMS, State and Federal regulations and compliance requirements. • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
