Job Description
Method is a global design and engineering consultancy founded in 1999. We believe that innovation should be meaningful, beautiful and human. We craft practical, powerful digital experiences that improve lives and transform businesses. Our teams [based in New York, Charlotte, Atlanta, London, Bengaluru, and remote] work with a wide range of organizations in many industries, including Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Automotive, Aviation, and Professional Services.
Method is part of GlobalLogic, a digital product engineering company. GlobalLogic integrates experience design and complex engineering to help our clients imagine what’s possible and accelerate their transition into tomorrow’s digital businesses. GlobalLogic is a Hitachi Group Company.
Method is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Engineer with intimate familiarity with the web platform to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in both the development and deployment phases of web application projects for our clients. Your expertise in front-end technologies such as React, Angular, NextJS, and TypeScript will be key in crafting engaging and efficient user interfaces. Additionally, your experience in deploying applications using Terraform and Jenkins pipelines will ensure our solutions are reliable and scalable. A critical component of delivering quality code is not only having experience but also the right mindset for developing comprehensive unit tests using tools like Vite and React Testing Library.
We generally operate with small teams working closely together on a wide variety of projects that range from an apparel design studio in the browser to offline-enabled mobile web applications. We have products in production today built with a range of platforms. We are not religious about our technology but choose the best solution. Our web stack today includes React, Angular, Vue.js, Ruby on Rails, node.js, .NET, and we also have Go in production.
You want the web to compete with native platforms on every level; from building compelling experiences to maintenance, usability, and distribution. Regardless of what browser you use for daily use, you strongly believe that testing, supporting, and encouraging use of all browsers is core to the current and future success of the web.
You are a human first, a developer second. You are willing and able to partake in and lead communication with project stakeholders. You should be able to explain technical constraints to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications utilizing React, NextJS, and TypeScript.
- Create responsive and accessible user interfaces in close collaboration with UX/UI designers.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices with Terraform and automate deployment processes through Jenkins pipelines.
- Develop and maintain high-quality unit tests for all codebases, using tools such as Vite and React Testing Library, to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Construct and manage component libraries with tools like Storybook to promote code reuse and maintain consistency.
- Perform thorough code reviews, advocate for best coding practices, and maintain high coding standards.
- Offer technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Keep up with new technology trends, frameworks, and practices to incorporate into projects for innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in full-stack development, with a solid foundation in React, NextJS, and TypeScript.
- Demonstrated experience with Terraform and Jenkins for deploying applications.
- Strong experience and mindset for developing unit tests using tools like Vite and React Testing Library is essential.
- Experience in building component libraries with Storybook or similar tools is highly valued.
- Deep understanding of web development principles, including SEO, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in distributed teams.
- Love the journey as much as the destination
