About The Role & Team

As a Staff Security Engineer you’ll be joining Amplitude’s IT team and our mission of supporting and innovating internal technology and corporate security. This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the IT team and the organization as a whole. You’ll have the opportunity to tackle different challenges each day that will keep you engaged and continuously learning. Your expertise and contributions will be critical in ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient by partnering closely with teams across the company to focus on systemic security improvements and risk reduction.

 As a Staff IT Security Engineer, you will:

• Implement various components of a comprehensive security program, including EDR, endpoint vulnerability and patch management, SaaS hardening, security of local applications, and BYOD
• Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect Amplitude endpoints and network
• Be the ambassador for IT security, working cross-functionally with our partners to implement recommendations and advocate for proactive solutions that fit the Amplitude culture and ecosystem
• Analyze the security posture of the IT software catalog – both SaaS and desktop applications – and seek improvements on a continuous basis
• Stay abreast of relevant threats and software issues and remediate as needed
• Participate in team on-call rotation to support the remediation of potential security incidents
• Be comfortable in an evolving security environment with needs that may change

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:

• At least 5 years experience in an endpoint security role
• Experience with MDMs such as Kandji or Jamf
• Subject matter expertise in identity and access management platforms like Okta
• Certifications such as Okta Certified Administrator or Okta Certified Consultant
• Coding skills in Python, bash, PowerShell or other languages
• Network security experience

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $172,000 - $258,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $191,000 - $286,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $191,000 - $286,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $172,000 - $258,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $172,000 - $258,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
