Staff Nurse - RN

Pregnancy Care Clinic is a Christian medical clinic dedicated to helping men and women facing an unintended pregnancy. The Staff Nurse position is part time for two days per week or 14 hours per week. Tuesday - Friday. The clinic is located In the professional building in Santee. Responsibilities: Provides support and care to the clients and maintains professional standards of care, following the ANA Code of Ethics. This position reports directly to the Nursing Services Director. Be responsible for a wide variety of clinic functions, planning and performing direct and indirect nursing interventions, and is responsible for, assessing and monitoring the medical clients served by the Pregnancy Care Clinic. Works in conjunction with a team of providers and volunteers to assure that patients are receiving the best medical, nursing care possible. Work well with the other Pregnancy Care Clinic Staff. Duties: 1. Maintains a working knowledge of nursing methods, principles and practices in relation to women's care. 2. Abide by the policies and procedures of the corporation. 3. Assures compliance with infection control guidelines. 4. Schedule in partnership with volunteer nurse staff 5. Train volunteer nurses 6. Maintains accurate records, care-plans and follow-through on physician's orders, and advises physicians of patient's progress and changes in condition. 7. Provides nursing care: assesses patient needs and makes nursing judgments, which reflect safe nursing practices. 8. Provides education for patient and family to develop an understanding of their health condition. 9. Maintain patient follow-up per patient care-plan and standardized procedures. 10. Performs urine pregnancy tests. 11. STI Testing using both rapid testing and lab analysis. Blood draws, urine analysis and finger sicks. 12. Performs limited obstetric ultrasounds. 13. Dispenses initial dose of pre-natal vitamins. 14. Maintains CEUs and mandatory training. 15. Work with the clinic team to meet the objectives and goals of the Pregnancy Care Clinic Qualifications: 1. Expresses full agreement with corporation's Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, Statement of Principle, and Statement of Lifestyle. 2. Complies with the policies and procedures of Pregnancy Care Clinic. 3. Is dependable, stable, and capable of following through on assignments. 4. Has a sincere desire to serve women facing difficult decisions about unexpected pregnancy, and build rapport. 5. Respects confidentiality. 6. Holds a current Registered Nurse's License in good standing with the State Medical Board, Including active CPR certification. 7. Has and maintains dependable transportation to and from work. 8.
