Staff Pharmacist (Part-time)

Position Summary: Looking to fill a staff pharmacist position in La Mesa, CA. Schedule will be Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 5:00p. (No evenings or weekends). Ocassional opening shifts. Provides prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceutical as needed for adequate patient care, according to professional standards and practices. Provide pharmacy services with courtesy, efficiency and cooperation. Essential Functions of the Job: • Advises physicians on drug selection, dosing, monitoring and prevention of adverse drug events and interactions. • Dispensing medications in accordance with recognized standards of practice, legal requirements and pharmacy department policies and procedures. • Participates in medication utilization evaluations and performance improvement programs. • Promotes cost effective pharmacotherapy including follow-up on formulary compliance issues. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: • Enhances business growth and development through participation in educational programs, and in service meetings and workshops. Job Requirements: Education Required (Minimum level of education):Pharm.D. from accredited school of pharmacy or B.S. Certifications/Licenses Required: CA pharmacist license Experience Required and in good standing Certified to give immunizations (Minimum level of experience): 1-2 years preferred. Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job: Good oral and written communication. Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:. Base familiarity with insurance billings.
