A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join their diabetic medical supply mail order pharmacy team. This role involves verifying and fulfilling orders of specialized boxed items such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps, working closely with a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. The position is contract to hire, ideally suited for someone with a mail order or retail background who thrives in collaborative settings. Location:San Diego, CA (specifically Chula Vista area) Schedule: • Pharmacy hours from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm • May require staying until 8:00 pm if work remains unfinished Responsibilities: • Product verification and order fulfillment for CGMs and insulin pumps • Managing complex packaging processes with attention to detail • Collaborating closely with a team including pharmacists, technicians, clerks, and drivers • Utilizing specialized systems such as Brightree, with comprehensive training provided • Maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the process Qualifications / Desired Experience: • Valid California State Pharmacist License in good standing (no negative history) is required • Previous mail order or retail pharmacy experience preferred • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset • Ability to manage complex programs and adapt to challenging systems • Additional pharmacist licenses are beneficial and considered for permanent site manager opportunities Team Environment: Work alongside a current staff comprising 3 pharmacists, 5 technicians, a clerk, and a driver, with full tech support available to ensure no pharmacist works alone.
