Staff Software Engineer

Principle GoLang Developer On behalf of our SaaS client in Phoenix, we are looking for a Principle GoLang Developer. Job Description: As a Principal GoLang Developer, you will serve as a hands-on technical expert, responsible for designing and driving the architecture of our backend services. You'll work across teams to ensure best practices, scalability, and performance, while also mentoring engineers and influencing the overall technology strategy. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role that combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision. Principle GoLang Developer Responsibilities: • Architect, design, and develop mission-critical backend services and APIs using GoLang. • Define and drive the long-term technical roadmap and architectural standards for backend systems. • Act as a technical advisor and mentor to engineers across multiple teams. • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and approaches to improve performance and reliability. • Lead initiatives around service scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance. • Partner with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure observability, deployment automation, and operational excellence. • Participate in design reviews, incident postmortems, and technical deep-dives. • Drive adoption of best practices in coding, testing, and CI/CD workflows. Principle GoLang Developer- Mandatory Skills • 8+ years of experience in backend development, including 4+ years of GoLang expertise. • Demonstrated experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and APIs at scale. • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). • Deep understanding of system performance tuning, event-driven architectures, and message queues (e.g., Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ). • Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases. • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams and departments. • Proven track record of owning and delivering complex technical projects in a SaaS environment.
