Job Description
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development with data structures/algorithms, and modern software development processes.
- 3 years of experience in 3D computer graphics (e.g., animation, rendering, game engines).
- Experience with AR/VR, game development, or operating systems architectures, and building and shipping systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in C or C# development on embedded systems, or performance profiling and optimization on mobile devices.
- Experience in design, in any medium (e.g., music), not limited to digital or graphical media.
- Experience in geometry processing and streaming.
- Knowledge of trigonometry, 3D transforms, linear algebra, geometry processing, performance profiling, and optimization on mobile devices.

In this role, you will work on applications and frameworks that bring Google's technology to life in next-generation computing platforms and interfaces. You will ideate, prototype, evaluate, and productize Virtual Reality (VR) experiences and hardware in a collaborative work environment. You will work in an environment and develop high-quality software artifacts. You will develop robust implementations that span from low-fidelity prototypes to productionized applications.

We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$276,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, develop, polish, and launch novel Virtual Reality (VR) / Augmented Reality (AR) experiences using the Unreal, Unity and Impress game engines.
- Develop new rendering, animation and compositing techniques to bring our vision of Google's immersive environments to life.
- Optimize complex datasets and runtimes to maximize the quality of virtual environments and actors on mobile headsets.
- Maintain, upgrade and enhance existing VR/AR products (e.g., Google Earth VR) to raise their quality bar and enhance their audience.
