Statutory Accountant

We are a seasoned title insurance company with great culture looking to add another “family” member to the accounting team. We’re looking for a skilled accounting professional to support FNTI’s statutory financial reporting and analysis. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex financial data, develop expertise in insurance accounting, and contribute to our company’s regulatory compliance and financial accuracy. Financial Statement Preparation • Prepare quarterly and annual statutory statements • Handle supplementary regulatory filings • Complete state premium tax returns and statistical reporting Financial Analysis & Support • Analyze financial trends and investigate variances • Work with internal teams to understand business results • Provide insights and explanations to senior management Process Improvement & Collaboration • Develop proficiency in statutory accounting guidance • Support process improvements across teams • Work with external tax consultants on quarterly provisions Additional Duties • Assist with monthly GAAP financial statements • Support preparation of audited financial statements • Manage reporting deadlines and premium tax obligations Required Experience: • 2+ years in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis • Advanced Excel skills including formulas and data analysis • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking • Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications: • Insurance industry experience • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems • Interest in full-cycle accounting and statutory reporting Work Environment: On-site position with collaborative team atmosphere Professional Growth:Opportunity to develop expertise in statutory accounting and insurance industry knowledge Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive salary • Group health and life insurance • 401(k) retirement plan • Paid time off Tools & Systems: • Microsoft Office Suite • NetSuite ERP system Position reports to Controller We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow their career in a supportive environment while contributing to our financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
