Store Support Associate

Job description Job Summary House of Stereo is a high-end audio shop with a high-performing website. The shop was founded in Jacksonville in 1969 and is Jacksonville's premier destination for high-end audio. We are seeking a motivated individual the help support the daily tasks at our shop. Although no prior experience in high-end audio is required, we are looking for someone who will be self-motivated to learn about the products we sell in order to answer basic questions for our customers. The right individual for this role is someone who has good communication and organization skills. Self-sufficiency and the ability to be proactive is a must. This position will provide between 30-40 hours per week, and will include a mix of weekdays and Saturdays. For a high-performing individual, this role has the opportunity to become a full-time position with health benefits. Responsibilities • Answer phones and provide customers with necessary information such as: availability of product, order status, shipping information etc. • Fulfillment of customer's orders - securely pack and prepare shipments for carrier pickup. • Complete inventory counts as needed. • Maintain cleanliness of stockroom. • Receive new stock into inventory. • Place orders with manufacturers • Support in maintaining shop cleanliness. • Build relationships with manufacturers to effectively provide support for customer's orders. • Process transactions efficiently using the POS system and handle cash register operations. • Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by restocking merchandise and arranging displays. • Engage in upselling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience and increase sales. • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner. Requirements • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required. • Strong organization skills with attention to detail when processing transactions. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. • Ability to recognize what areas of the shop need attention and take a proactive approach to remediate. • A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
