Account Executives power Pave's go-to-market engine by sourcing and closing new customers.Â
Youâll become a strategic advisor to HR / Finance executives in the world of compensation. Youâll run discovery calls with prospects, understand their challenges, then convert them to customers to expand the Pave compensation network. Weâre looking for someone with the hunter mentality - whenever youâre not working on inbound prospects, youâll work with your SDR to target strategic accounts and outbound prospects to fill your pipeline.Â
This isnât just a quota-carrying role. Youâll work closely with the Pave product, customer success, executive, and engineering teams to help inform the products we build and the markets we enter. Youâll have early exposure to founders, Silicon Valley investors, and HR / Finance executives.
What weâre looking for:- 10+ years selling platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service
- Achieving revenue targets >$1.5M per year for more than 3 years
- Designing and executing complex deal strategies
- Experiences selling to, and partnering with 5000+ Employee companiesÂ
- Working directly with c-level executives both internally and externally
- Leading high-visibility customer events (CAB, conferences, product launches, etc.)
- Gathering, distilling, and processing complex market (industry, competitor, customer, prospect) intelligence
- We are not interested in lone wolves. We win and lose as a team. We expect our experienced sellers to support the development of company culture and the broader sales team.
- Â You'll be the first Strategic Account Executive at Pave, working to partner with the largest companies and advising them on how to scale compensation practices across thousands of employees. As the first Strategic AE, you'll play a critical role in bringing on some of Pave's most recognized customers, shaping the direction of product, and leveling up the broader sales organization.
- Youâll have a key role in collaborating with solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering. You will directly inform Paveâs upmarket product roadmap.
- As the first member of Pave's Strategic Sales team, youâll work directly with Paveâs executive team to drive business outcomes.

Paveâs OTE for this position is $300,000 USD per year, with a 50/50 split base to OTE. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, commuter benefits, catered lunch, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits.
Paveâs compensation philosophy is to target the 75th percentile of the market for both cash and equity at your job level. This means that the âmid pointâ of every band at Pave is the 75th percentile of the broader market.
Pave also has a merit-based philosophy when it comes to compensation increases. We run a performance cycle twice per year to evaluate employeesâ performance. Higher than average performance ratings result in compensation increases to the upper end of the individualâs compensation range for their role. The result is that high performers at Pave are paid above the 75th percentile of the market at large.
Pave is committed to pay equity. If you get an offer from Pave, it will be based on your level as determined by your interview performance. And nothing else. We explicitly do not negotiate salary and equity to ensure that we arenât introducing bias that could lead to pay inequities within the team between candidates who have different negotiation tactics.

What can I expect in interviewing at Pave?Â
At Pave, we value intellectual honesty and transparency, and we bring this to our interview process. Throughout your time interviewing with us, we will be evaluating where you can best make an impact through multiple conversations with your recruiter, hiring manager, peers and cross-functional partners. We also use our interviews to determine leveling, which is finalized at the end of your interview process by your hiring manager. The majority of our roles have 3-5 interview rounds. You can expect to hear back from our team within 7 days of application, as well as within 2 days after each interview round. Once we extend an offer, we hope to hear back from you within 1 week.
