Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will serve as a hybrid role in the areas of S&IM Technical spend covering the areas of CAPEX and MRO categories with emphasis on maintenance repairs and operations (MRO). You will be the face for your assigned category to Nestrade Generic Equipment, NiM MRO categories and serve as the key interface with business/functional leadership across Nestle Purina for the category. You will also be responsible for sourcing business specific requirements and develop strategies in support of the functional areas. You will set the procurement strategy for spend areas in your scope and localizing any globally created strategies. You will identify value-creation opportunities and lead cross-functional projects for the category, as well as supplier strategy, collaboration, and relationship management with focus on risk mitigations, innovation, sustainability, and DEI.

  • End-to-end management of assigned category including localization of global strategies, development of at-market strategies and coordination with suppliers, Nestrade and NiM buyers as required.
  • Execute Nestle's 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process for Nestle Purina specific projects enabling value generation through sustainability, innovation, and cost improvements
  • Define risk management strategies for the business and promote mitigation activities by proactively managing supplier relationships, clearly communicating risk to stakeholders, and developing and sharing market insights and reporting
  • Develop improved ways of working, introducing new processes or re-engineering existing in support of key priorities by leveraging intelligence tools, complying with all procurement policies, and applying project management principles
  • Hunt and deliver cost reduction opportunities in leveraged and non-leveraged areas in support of business requirements and procurement cost improvement goals through implementation of existing programs and developing new
  • Develop long-term competitive advantage solutions to various functional areas while utilizing RFI/RFP processes and apply strategic approach

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, economics, or engineering
  • 3+ years' experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics or a related supply chain role
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba (e-sourcing) or similar

Other

  • Power BI & Power Automation experience
  • Strategic negotiation experience
