About VCA Structural VCA Structural is a design-forward, technically rigorous structural engineering firm with decades of experience across diverse sectors including residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, and industrial. As part of our strategic expansion into the Phoenix market, we’re looking for a Structural Project Manager to help lead key projects and contribute to the long-term growth of our regional office. We’re targeting professionals with 8+ years of experience, a PE license (SE preferred), and deep expertise in wood-frame, podium, post-tensioned, steel, and industrial construction. This role offers a clear path to leadership (e.g., Associate Principal) and is ideal for someone seeking long-term professional growth. What You’ll Do Project & Technical Leadership • Oversee structural design from schematic through construction phases • Manage project timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables • Lead QA/QC reviews of calculations, drawings, and specifications • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate internal design teams • Ensure code compliance (IBC, local codes) and constructability across a range of building types Client & Team Collaboration • Serve as the lead contact for clients, architects, and contractors • Lead meetings, site visits, and client presentations • Foster strong, lasting relationships with local architects, developers, and consultants • Actively contribute to internal knowledge sharing and team development Business Development & Market Expansion (Leadership Track) • Support and eventually lead business development efforts in the Phoenix region • Leverage your local network to generate project opportunities • Help craft and execute a regional growth strategy in partnership with firm leadership • Represent VCA at local industry events and networking functions Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering • PE license required (SE preferred or ability to obtain) • 8+ years of structural engineering experience, including project management • Proficient in a variety of building systems: wood-frame, PT concrete, steel, podium, wrap, industrial • Skilled in Bentley Structural System, RISA, ETABS, Enercalc, Revit, Ram Concept, and other structural design tools • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and complex projects Preferred Qualifications • Established ties to the Phoenix metro market (Tempe, Scottsdale, etc.) • Experience with data centers, industrial facilities, and high-density multifamily projects • Interest in growing a satellite office and contributing to long-term regional strategy What We Offer • A leadership-track role with long-term potential (Associate Principal and beyond) • Flexible growth opportunities within a dynamic, supportive firm culture • The chance to make a visible impact in an emerging office within a respected firm • Competitive compensation aligned with Phoenix market expectations Join Us in Building Something Meaningful in Phoenix We’re not just hiring for a project—we’re building a future.
