Structural Welder

Job Summary DSSI is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various welding techniques and fabrication processes, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. This role requires a commitment to safety and quality, ensuring that all welds meet industry standards and specifications. Duties • Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and Stick welding on various materials including sheet metal and structural steel. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications. • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate components according to design requirements. • Conduct rigging operations for lifting heavy materials using cranes and forklifts. • Measure components using calipers and micrometers to ensure precision in fabrication. • Assemble ductwork and other structural components as per project needs. • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Experience • Proven experience in construction site environments with a strong understanding of welding processes. • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to structural welding. • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and layouts. • Experience in manufacturing settings is preferred, including knowledge of machining, soldering, plasma cutting, and operating press brake machines. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
