Ford Model E is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities - such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling - to create ground-up breakthrough electric vehicles. By joining the best software, engineering, design and UX talent, you will be a part of creating new technologies and concepts that can be applied across the Ford enterprise. Being on the Ford Model E team means building the future as Ford's center of innovation and growth through electric and connected vehicles and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a team within Ford Model E, we are working on development of the on-board charger and battery management system hardware. As part of this team, you will

• Learn how to model power stage of a power converter accurately,
• Learn how to implement digital control algorithms within a simulation model,
• Learn how to analyze the effects of converter topology, passive components, and control parameters on the performance of a power converter in terms of bandwidth, stability, and steady state error,
• Collaborate with both hardware and software engineers for proper modelling of the power converter and grow expertise with working with industry experts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Pursuit of a master's or PhD degree in electronics engineering
• Familiarity with power electronics applications and circuit simulation software
• Team player who can work in a fast-paced, and multi-disciplinary environment.
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work from the Santa Fe Springs, CA campus.
• Must be able to dedicate at least 3 months for this engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with PLECS or Simulink,
• Solid background on control theory and familiarity with concepts such as stability, bandwidth, gain/phase margin,
• Prior experience with power converter modeling in a simulation environment is a bonus.
