The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees. **Duties** - Manage team of 3 security officers - Conduct routine patrol of the premises to ensure security and safety - Enforce access control procedures - Communicate professionally with client staff, DHS visitors, and first responders - Excellent de-escalation techniques in order to handle disruptive behavior or conflicts in a shelter - Maintain accurate logs and records of security related activities, incidents, and observations. - Investigate alarms or disturbances - Report in detail any suspicious incidents - Collaborate with other security team members for a stress-free work environment **8 hour Shifts Week Days & 12 hour Shifts on WEEKENDS** - Monday - Friday 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am - Saturday-Sunday: 12am Midnight-12pm Noon OR 12pm Noon-12am Midnight **Experience** The successful candidate should have the following skills: -Must Possess a valid NYS security guard license -Must have Fire Guard F80 - Experience working at Shelters in NYC is a plus - Completed DHS Shelter Security Guard Training - Good communication skills - Attention to detail - Collaboration/Team Player - Problem Solver - Ability to balance safety, compassion, and professionalism - De-escalation skills - Knowledge of First Aid and CPR procedures - Experience in loss prevention techniques - Proficiency in conflict management - Familiarity with CCTV surveillance systems - Understanding of law enforcement procedures - Military experience is a plus - Ability to conduct surveillance operations This position offers opportunities for professional growth.
