Summary
This position is located at Defense Logistics Agency's New Cumberland, PA location with the Child and Youth Services Division.

- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
- A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
- Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required. Travel to on and off post locations required.
- May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
- Travel to on and off post locations required.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para 2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
Qualifications
-For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
OR
(QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.
In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), candidate must also possess all of the following:
1. Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs.
2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs.
3. Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum.
4. Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.
Education
Proof of education is required at the time of application. Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled. General Education courses do not count toward the credit total.

Area of Consideration
The Area of Consideration is within the Local Commuting Area. This means living within an estimated 50 mile radius from New Cumberland, PA. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration should respond yes to this question.)

- Sign on bonus for this position: $1000.00 initial sign on.
- Sign on Bonuses Require the incumbent to complete their training.
- Once employed for 30 days sign on bonuses are paid.
- Retention Bonus: $1500.00
- Incumbent must be employed for 12 months.
- Retention bonuses are paid following 12-month employment period.
- Requires successful completion of Virtual Lab School (VLS) training track (15 modules).
- Referral Bonus: $250 for existing employee that refers selectee - available to all employees once on board (up to $1000 annually).
- Tuition Assistance Available for continuing education.
- Reduced Childcare: Free for first child, 50% discount for second, and 15% discount each additional child.
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
- This is a regular full time position with a 40 hour minimum workweek and eligible for benefits.
