Sushi Chef

Sushi Katsuya is seeking Sushi Chefs to join our team! Our restaurant is part of the Katsu-Ya Restaurant Group, located in Encino. Our restaurant is focused on bringing an excellent and exciting dining experience to Los Angeles. We are looking for energetic, individuals with a passion for Japanese food, who experience as Sushi Chef. Responsibilities: • Prepare Sushi, Sashimi, Rolls, and other food items with high quality and our standard. • Maintain a clean sanitary work area. • Assist food prepping food during off-peak hours. • Coordinate fish orders • Check freshness and quality of ingredients • Re-stock goods and food products. • Follow proper recipes and plate presentations • Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years experience • Previous experience in a Japanese restaurant, cooking, or other related fields • Passion for food and strong knife skills, cooking techniques • Strong communication skills and sense of urgency • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment • Professional attitude and great team worker Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Benefits: • Employee discount Shift availability: • Day Shift (Preferred) • Night Shift (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Encino, CA 91436 (Required) Work Location: In person
